In 2013, Channing found his passion for coaching when he took a position with the Arizona Diamondbacks as a field coach. He also worked with the Arizona World of Baseball. He has always loved communicating with younger players about the techniques that helped make him and others successful. In 2014, after a stint in Germany coaching with the Gottingen Allstars, Channing moved back home to become the assistant coach for Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe. In 2015, Channing joined Seton Catholic Sentinels as the Junior Varsity Head Coach, where he still coaches every season. With both collegiate and professional experience under his belt, Channing decided to start his own baseball and softball academy in 2021, specializing in hitting and pitching training. He is currently training players of all ages. His coaching style focuses on balance, good position, and simplifying hitting mechanics. Channing understands that students develop at different speeds, so he encourages healthy work habits so that skills are improved with each lesson.
